December Goals - Blogmas Day 2

Welcome to the second day of Blogmas! As my typical monthly goals have fallen by the wayside of late I wanted to reignite them for the month of December. Monthly goals for me are a way to keep me grounded and have an idea of what I need to do in my day to day life. I churn through to-do lists all day at work, but there’s plenty of thing I need to do to keep my day to day life ticking over too, so here are my goals for the coming month;

Touch up paint

We recently purchased a new pot of paint to cover up a red wine stain on our living room wall, but I’ve noticed other areas that could do with a little bit of a touch up too. The odd mark here and there, or extra wear around the light switches, nothing major. Seeing as I have some time off towards the end of December for Christmas, I have plenty of time so I’d like to get those odd little bits of painting done.

Get our re-mortgage finalised

I can’t believe we’ve been here for two years already! Our mortgage is due for renewal and we’re switching provider, so we’ve got a couple of bits on the go to make sure it’s all switched over by the end of December. Unfortunately, experience has shown that conveyancing solicitors aren’t as efficient as they could be so we’ll be chasing them frequently to make sure everything is changed over in time.

Finish and schedule blogmas content

As I started a little in advance I had the first weeks’ worth of blogmas content scheduled and ready to go, but many of the other posts require finishing in one way or another. I don’t want this to be stressful with a mad panic to churn content out so I want to get as much written up in advance of its posting date as possible.

Finish CPD hours

This is more to do with my work life than personal. Due to holding certain qualifications within the body that governs our industry I need to complete a certain amount of hours training per year. I’m a few hours short to compete this year and need to source myself some training for December.

Finish up my Secret Santa gift

Our little group of friends have decided to do Secret Santa this year rather than us all having the fund multiple presents – especially as we’ve got a lot of birthdays around Christmas and New Year too. I’ve just about got my gift sorted with just a few finishing touches to make.

Decorate the house

I didn’t get round to doing any kind of decoration for Halloween this year, and I don’t want Christmas to pass by in the same way. We’ve got plenty of bits and pieces stashed away in the attic, so once I’ve taken it down I can set aside some time to ‘Christmas’ the house.

Amp up the gym

Just before lockdown 2 I was really starting to get into the gym again. I had a fantastic new gym buddy, we had a good routine and I had loads of motivation. I’ve switched back to running since the gym has been closed and I’m slowly building my stamina and cardio back up. When the gyms open back up my aim is to keep up the lunch time running so I have a mix of cardio and weight training.

That sums up my goals for December! I’ve kept it short and sweet given that I’ve not done a great job at keeping up with them the past few months. It’s kind of scary to think that by the time I next check back with these it’ll be 2021!

What are your goals for December?
